The Druid Network has begun planting trees in the Caledonian Forest, in Scotland. Facilitated by “Trees for Life”, we intend to plant trees to reflect our impact on the climate. This is an action in keeping with our Declaration of A Climate and Ecological Emergency [link]

Our grove is linked, and can be added to, here: https://treesforlife.org.uk/groves/86224/

Consuming less, through sensible lifestyle choices is of course an intrinsic part of living ones Druidry. But we are not hermits. The relationships we build with land, sea, sky and spirit are celebratory, and life is a blessed opportunity to show enjoyment within reverence. Everything has an impact.

As a member of the Inter Faith Network for the UK we send our representative to meetings, often involving long distance travel. As individual Druids, we also make journeys and consume resources. In as far as reforestation and new tree planting can mitigate carbon debt, this donation-sponsored reforesting is a tangible option.

Over the years, TDN has explored how as an online organisation it can best serve its purpose without unduly harming our world. Servers, computers, tablets, phones; they all consume resources and powering them impacts the planets carbon balance significantly.

We choose our infrastructure for its minimal resource expenditure. Through this planting of trees, TDN is doing something more toward mitigating our impact.
